Installation Guide of TP1 Thermal Protector in Transformer

When installing the TP1 thermal protector in the transformer, the power of the transformer must be confirmed first. If the transformer power is small and the current is within the range of the thermal protector, it can be directly installed in the transformer circuit; If the transformer power is large, the thermal protector can only be installed on the control circuit of the input voltage of the transformer, not directly on the input circuit.


During installation, the metal surface of TP1 product shall be closely attached to the temperature control point of the transformer (usually the largest heating point of the transformer), and the TP1 shall be fixed on this point with insulating tape. Two outgoing lines of the TP1 protector are connected in series in the control circuit of the transformer, according to the temperature signal sensed by TP1 product (disconnect or connect the control circuit when over-temperature), control the transformer input circuit by controlling the electric control switch.


When selecting TP1 thermal protector, the most important points are:

1. Select the best temperature control point of the controlled product and measure the temperature at this point, so as to determine the temperature of TP1.

2. Make sure the control switch mode of the control circuit to select the type of TP1 product (normally open or normally closed).

3. Measure the temperature difference between the temperature control point and the highest heating point of the controlled product, as well as the maximum heating rate of the transformer, so as to determine the temperature value of TP1.

4. When installing TP1 thermal protector, it is better to apply thermal conductive silica gel on the contact surface of TP1, which can improve the speed of heat transfer and maintain the consistency of temperature.
